The purpose of this NACE International testmethod is to standardize the testing methodsand conditions used to determine acceptabletemperature limits for personnelprotection for insulative coatings in accordancewith ASTM C1055. The temperaturelimits determined when using this test methodare specific for each coating tested at aparticular thickness and substrate temperature.A standardized test method can validatethe temperature limits of a coating usedfor personnel protection, and enable directcomparison of its performance. This testmethod is intended for use by facility owners,engineers, health and safety specialists,coatings manufacturers, and other interested parties.
