HI-85-41-2 — Advanced Heat Pump and Air-Conditioning Cycles for the Working Pair H20/LiBr: Domestic and Commercial Applications

$8.00

Conference Proceeding by ASHRAE, 1985

Category:

Description

An advanced cycle is presented, by which presently used H2O/LiBr air conditioners can be switched into a heat-pump mode of operation. The heat of absorption is transformed to temperatures above 50°C, thus being usable for heating.

In a further cycle, the integration of a steam compressor into a H2O/LiBr absorption system is described. Driving the compressor with a combustion engine and feeding the waste heat into the generators of the absorption system yields an increase of the COP (cold production/primary energy) from presently about 1 (for double-effect absorption machines or for electrically driven compression machines) to about 1.5.
