Description
To protect yourself in business, you must identify the risks presented by prospective projects, and take appropriate steps to avoid and/or limit them. Frequently, consulting engineers and related-industry members mistakenly assume that their exposure on a project is limited to their fee or profit, plus the cost to correct, repair or replace defective work together with any property that has been damaged. Too often they fail to appreciate another critically important risk, and that is the possibility that they may have to pay “consequential damages.”
