Avoid fire and explosion dangers. Maximize fire safety in service stations with the critical guidelines outlined in the 2008 NFPA 30A.
Service stations dispensing flammable fuels can avoid serious hazards only by adhering to specialized guidelines. NFPA 30A: Code for Motor Fuel Dispensing Facilities and Repair Garages provides rules for piping, fuel dispensing systems, service stations inside buildings, and the full range of operations.
Important changes to the 2008 edition of NFPA 30A include:
- New requirements for tanks and the use of hydrogen as a vehicle fuel
- All technical specifications for tanks have been removed and replaced by references to NFPA 30.
- References to NFPA 52: Vehicular Fuel Systems Code have been inserted into Chapter 12 to address storage and dispensing of hydrogen at facilities that dispense gaseous and liquid fuels into vehicles.
