Developed primarily for garment end users, NFPA 2113 provides minimum requirements for the selection, care, use, and maintenance of flame-resistant garments compliant with NFPA 2112 for use in areas at risk from flash fires. Follow the provisions in this document to promote correct selection of protective clothing, and reduce the risks caused by incorrect maintenance, contamination, or damage.
The 2007 edition features:
- Expanded requirements for the hazard assessment that must be conducted for proper selection of flame-resistant garments. The new rules represent industry best practices for hazard analysis procedures.
- Revised selection criteria based on strengthened design requirements
- Updated definitions consistent with the NFPA Glossary of Terms
NFPA 2113 and its companion document for garment manufacturers, NFPA 2112, are the first Standards developed for industrial flash fire protective garments in the United States.
