Description

The requirements for ENERGY STAR are that the school must be in the top 25% of the nation’s schools in energy use. This article examines how one Indiana school district achieved eight of the state’s nine ENERGY STAR schools. How did it do it? It applied a modern two-pipe system for air delivery to provide quick changeover from heating to cooling with control provided by the building automation system. That along with other techniques has saved more than $5 million in energy costs since 1985.
