Description
Presents a sensitivity analysis of the environmental factors influencing comfort, as quantified through Fanger’s equation. Uses the results of the sensitivity analysis, together with data collected in unoccupied research houses, to provide insights concerning comfort-related issues. Goes on to use the insights provided by this preliminary analysis to explore possibilities for environmental control through parameters other than dry-bulb temperature. States the results of the analysis indicate that there are several alternatives for more efficient environmental control during the cooling season and that the possibilities are much more limited during the heating season.
