SF-86-02-3 — Fluidized Bed Combustion — for Clean Burning of Coal in District Heating Cogeneration Systems

$7.50

Conference Proceeding by ASHRAE, 1986

Category:

Description

Cogeneration as an efficient utilization of energy has long been known and practiced by the district heating industry. Now, through the development of fluidized bed combustion, heat can be derived from a wide variety of fuels and waste materials previously classified as difficult or impossible to burn in conventional boiler designs. The fluidized bed combustor coupled to modern steam condensing turbines with controlled extractions offers lower heat supply costs and is an excellent application for district heating. This paper will discuss fluidized bed combustion technology, cogeneration, and district heating.
