3398 — A High-Efficiency, Orientation-Insensitive Evaporator

$7.50

Conference Proceeding by ASHRAE, 1990

Category:

Description

Presents a novel evaporator design that uses porous sintered metal (PSM) on the interior, and spines on the exterior, to increase the heat transfer. States that for a given evaporator length, the amount of heat transferred was increased eight to ten times compared to conventional evaporators which have neither PSM nor spines. States the PSM allows the evaporator to be used in any orientation since liquid cannot escape and damage the refrigeration compressor.
