This standard is Part 3 of the four-part AutomatedPeople Mover Standards, which establish the minimumset of requirements necessary to achieve anacceptable level of safety and performance for anAutomated People Mover (APM) system. An APM isdefined as a guided transit mode with fully automatedoperation, featuring vehicles that operate on guidewayswith exclusive right-of-way.
Parts 1, 2, and 3 cover requirements for design of anAPM system while Part 4 covers requirements for anAPM in passenger operation. Part 3 contains sectionscovering electrical, stations, and guideways.
