Description

The scope of this Code is to specify procedures forevaluation of uncertainties in test measurements,parameters, and methods, and propagation of thoseuncertainties into the uncertainty of a test result.Depending on the application, uncertainty sources maybe classified either by the presumed effect (systematicor random) on the measurement or test result, or bythe process in which they may be quantified or theirpedigree (Type A or Type B). The various statisticalterms involved are defined in the Nomenclature(subsection 3-1) or Glossary (subsection 3-2).
