Description
The measurement of transient temperatures downstream of a 9.8 ft (3 m) poorly insulated duct, using a thermocouple having a finite time constant, can lead to measurable differences from temperatures measured immediately behind a cooling coil (and blower) under idealized conditions. In the example analyzed, a 90 difference in cooling during a six-minute blower on-time is computed, primarily due to transient effects.
