Description
This standard covers barrier protection systems used toaugment preservative treated wood and wood basedcomponents for ground contact uses, such as posts, poles,piling and the like. The barrier system protects the decayand termite susceptible portions of the underlying woodmember. Barrier protection systems are made ofimpermeable, weather resistant materials and arepermanently affixed to the wood. End uses of BarrierProtection Systems in conjunction with treated woodproducts are defined by Standard U1, CommoditySpecification K (withdrawn).
