Description

With the continued increase in packing density of server and storage devices, the ability and cost of powering and cooling the latest computer hardware is becoming more difficult and more expensive. In fact, the cost of power and cooling infrastructure plus the operating cost is now at the point of being a greater expense than the cost of the hardware itself. This paper discusses these increasing costs and suggests several “best practices” to use energy more efficiently.
