Description

The real energy usage of a building is often much higher than might be expected based on the design. This is mainly caused because it is still not possible to incorporate the actual human behavior within the design calculations. Thus, the challenge for the coming years is to find innovated solutions to include the human behavior. As more and more functions are linked to the control systems for the climate, this creates opportunities to further expand their functionality; Dynamic deployment and monitoring on the basis of availability, sustainability, efficiency; Energy management and energy optimization of existing systems; Comfort management and monitoring; Energy management.

The aim of our project is to develop the necessary support for human centered energy services in the built environment. It is very important that the service better meet the needs of the customer and optimally supports them making them more productive. The recent most promising developments in this direction come from the domain of Bond Graph technology: Archi Bond Graphs. This experimental approach was used to describe the occupant’s flow within a real office building and to couple it with energy flows within a building. It proved that Archi Bondgraph in combination with Regular Bond Graphs is a promising technique for integrating spatial representation and technical representations, although still some development steps are needed.
