DA-88-16-1 — Comparison of Thermal Predictive Models for Clothed Humans

$7.50

Conference Proceeding by ASHRAE, 1988

Category:

Description

In comparison to physiological models of thermoregulation, the heat transport models of clothing are underdeveloped. The only excuse for this might be that thermoregulation is largely of interest to physiologists. The required physics has been long available, but not consequently used in the application of clothing assemblies. The various kinds of predictive thermal models are classified according to the calculation steps involved in the chain: environment – skin heat transfer physiological strain – performance. Each class of model is discussed, including validity and differences between representative examples of interest to clothing and thermal comfort researchers.
