Description
The ISO 13790 international standard gives a simplified calculation method for assessment of the annual energy use for space heating of a residential or a nonresidential building or a part of it. This method s based on the quasi-steady-state approximation. It includes the calculation of the heat losses of the building when heated to constant internal temperature, internal and passive solar heat gains, and the annual heat required to maintain the specified setpoint temperatures in the building. When compared to other similar standards, such as ISO 9164, this standard has several new features, such as solar gains of passive solar devices, intermittent heating, and application to residential, nonresidential, and multi-zone buildings.
