Description
Building energy consumption statistical models have been accepted and often utilized for energy measurement and verification (M&V) purposes. A constant volume reheat system sometimes has a peculiar heating load shape that cannot be well described by the basic models so far reported in literature. The control scheme may cause heating energy use to rise unexpectedly in an intermediate temperature range. A new break-point statistical formulation is proposed to model such systems. This new formulation has value as it fills a gap for a major system type and operation condition. Its suitability was validated on measured data of eight commercial buildings.
