Description

Underground corrosion-control coordinating (electrolysis) committees are composedof technical personnel who represent a variety of companies concerned with undergroundmetallic cables, pipelines, or tanks. Many companies, such as those that operate directcurrent (DC) traction systems and which could introduce DC into the earth, possibly causingelectrolytic corrosion on underground metallic structures, are also interested participants inthe corrosion-control coordinating committee program.

Corrosion-control coordinating committees are not components of NACEInternational, nor does this publication contain required procedures for establishing andoperating committees. Rather, it is intended to serve as a guide for existing committeesand for the establishment of new committees where none exist.
