NT-87-08-5 — Computer-Aided Design of a Capillary Tube for the Expansion Valve of the Refrigeration Machine

$7.50

Conference Proceeding by ASHRAE, 1987

Category:

Description

The capillary tube has been widely used as the expansion valve in a commercial refrigeration machine, especially with the fixed cooling load operation, namely the household refrigerators and the window type air conditioners. An iterative procedure yields the length of the tube and consequently the quality is predicted at the exit of the tube. The iterative procedure will be replaced by a computer program with the thermodynamic and physical property tables as the subroutines and function statement of the program. The program is written in FORTRAN for a main frame computer. The program is the culmination of the student programs in the course, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning.
